Twenty-one Moldovans have reported incomes of over 1,000,000 lei (75,000 dollars) for last year, compared with 13 in 2004, according to data released by the State Tax Service after processing the income declarations of individuals for 2005. <\/p>\n

The number of millionaires in the total number of Moldovans who declared their incomes counts for approximately 0.03 percent. <\/p>\n

At the same time, the number of Moldovans who declared incomes of between 500,000 lei and 1,000,000 lei rose from 41 up to 49 persons. Another 136 persons have declared incomes of between 250,000 and 500,000 lei, compared with 102 in 2004. Further, 1,215 individuals have reported earnings of between 250,000 lei and more than 100,000 lei, compared with 796 in 2004. <\/p>\n

The State Tax Inspectorate has processed 73,200 income declarations for 2005 till August 16, while individuals declared 1,645,063,000 lei, compared with 1,490,015,000 in 2004. The total income tax held by state accordingly to norms in effect amounted to 158.31 million lei, by 6.4 percent more than in 2004. <\/p>\n
