Due to a new government formation under way in Moldova, the International Monetary Fund has decided to put off the visit of its mission to Chisinau from February 17 to presumably March 3, IMF Resident Representative at Moldova Mr Mark Horton told INFOTAG.<\/p>\n

In his words, several crediting volume indicators, that have been agreed on between the IMF and National Bank of Moldova, failed to be fulfilled by end-December. In this connection, the IMF may request Moldova to undertake extra commitments that will ensure the fulfillment of the program earlier agreed on between the two sides.<\/p>\n

"It would be better if the situation at the year-end was clearer. It is very difficult to request the IMF leadership to allocate another tranche to a country which has no Government", Mr Horton said.<\/p>\n
