On the basis of macroeconomic indexes, at present there are given the final touches to the main parameters of the budget law for 2007. <\/p>\n

Statements to this effect have been made by Finance Minister Mihai Pop within a meeting with responsible persons for the working out of the draft law, according to the government’s press service. <\/p>\n

The national public budget is forecast to be set in terms of revenues at 18,913 billion lei, up by 1,947 billion against the indexes planned for 2006. <\/p>\n

At the same time, Pop said, there started consultations with the competent ministries and local public administration on setting up the expenses planned to be made from the national public budget in 2007. <\/p>\n

The discussions will mainly focus on the size of allocations and expenses provided in the draft budget law worked out by the Finance Ministry and on improving the expenses. <\/p>\n

Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev, who presided over the meeting, called for all the budgetary institutions to have the opportunity to present their objections and proposals as regards the budget for the next year so as to exclude any divergences. <\/p>\n
