The National Bureau of Statistics says that inpayments valued at 7.6 billion lei entered the national public budget in the first half of 2006. This is by 5.7% more than projected and by 23% more compared with the same period last year. <\/p>\n

A sum of 1.1 billion lei (111.8% of the projected volume) represented direct taxes. The earnings in the first six months of 2006 rose by 251.1 million lei compared with the corresponding period last year. The incomes from indirect taxes totaled 3.3 billion lei or \"\"107.3% of the projected sums. This is by 565 million lei more compared wit last year, the same period. Other incomes added to 3.2 billion lei or 102.3% of the projections, what is by 625.3 million lei more than last year. <\/p>\n

According to official accounts, the public spending in the first half of 2006 totaled 7.7 billion lei or 79.4% of the projected sum. The spending rose by 1.5 billion lei on last year. Welfare expenditure accounts for a large part of the spending: 69.2%.
