The Capital market of the Republic of Moldova, determined by the mass privatization of patrimony in exchange for patrimonial bonds and implementation of a reform on changing the property forms, gathered 3 mln shareholders in the last 15 years. <\/p>\n

The deputy chairman of the National Securities Commission (CNVM), Vasile Pentelei recently declared that despite all difficulties occurring at the begging, lack of experience, mistakes made, the capital market became an undisputable reality and the capitalization process – irreversible. <\/p>\n

Until now the legislative and normative base as well as the necessary infrastructure for the activity of the capital market in Moldova was created, the first and secondary markets were instituted and developed. Professional participants appeared and strengthened on the market. They improved their knowledge and increased their skill level and CNVM became an autonomous authority which regulates, supervises and controls whether the legislation is respected on the securities market or not. <\/p>\n

According to the quoted source, the development of the capital market in the country resides in the cumulative value of securities which amounted to MDL 18 bln since its appearance and until January 1, 2006. <\/p>\n

The average annual value of emissions in the last 5 years constitutes MDL 5.8 mln, or 1.7-fold more that the annual average of the last 5 years. On the secondary market in all these years there were performed transactions with securities amounting to MDL 6 bln. The share of stock exchange transactions constituted 45%, the rest being on the supplementary stock exchange market. The average value of transactions on the secondary market in 2001-2005 constituted MDL 700 mln or 1.3-fold more comparing with the last 5 years. <\/p>\n

Comparing with other countries, where a similar process happened, in Moldova these figures are small, but according to him “although there are many reserves not included in the circuit, the capital market had a dynamic increase”.
