The Parliament Friday approved in final reading amendments to the law on entrepreneur’s patent. Under the approved amendments, the cost of the patent will be reduced by 30% and the payments maid by patent holders will be transferred to the local budgets. <\/p>\n

The patent holders will pay personally the social insurance contributions, what will give them the right to a minimal pension and to death allowance. Under the amendments, the number of activities practiced under patent, such as the provision of hotel services and leasing of dwelling, will be gradually reduced starting on 1 January 2009. In addition, these services will be subject to taxation. <\/p>\n

According to the Government, the amendment of the law on entrepreneur’s patent was imposed by the current system governing the entrepreneurial activity which is bureaucratized and causes problems to patent holders. <\/p>\n

About 40,000 patent holders work in Moldova at present. They pay a monthly tax of 21 to 420 lei, while in rural settlements – of 7 to 70 lei. \/\/ Reporter.MD<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
