A reformed payment system will come into force in Moldova on April 21. The automated interbank payment system (AIPS) will include a real time gross settlement system (RTGS), which is designed to handle urgent and large payments, and a net settlement system (NSS) to handle small payments. <\/p>\n

The regulations concerning the automated interbank payment system will take effect simultaneously with the AIPS system. The payments in Moldova’s banking sector in national currency will be performed on the basis of the respective regulations. <\/p>\n

According to the National Bank of Moldova, the regulations concerning the automated interbank payment system specify the fee that the central bank will charge for payments under the AIPS system, as well as the program of a business day for the AIPS system. <\/p>\n

A commission of 2.5 lei will be charged for a warrant processed in the RTGS system and a commission of 1.25 lei for a warrant processed in the NSS system.
