Last January-March, Moldova State Budget revenues topped 2.9 billion lei – up 15.9% against the equivalent period of last year. The daily revenues figure had grown up to av. 29.2 million lei from av. 26.1 million lei in 1Q2005, Minister of Finance Mihai Pop told journalists. <\/p>\n

"In the first quarter of the year, we received grants from foreign donors in the amount of 23 million lei. Special funds had accumulated 38.4 million lei, and public institutions financed from the State Budget – 162.1 million lei", the Minister said. <\/p>\n

State Budget expenditures amounted to 1.88 billion lei (+17.9%), of which 256.2 million lei was repaid in salaries to civil servants, 59.8 million lei in pensions and allowances, 25 million lei in scholarships to students, and 51.2 million lei was paid in settlements with the energy sector. <\/p>\n

Transfers to local budgets were 279.9 million lei, the National Health Insurance Company got 250.5 million lei – precisely as was projected by the Law on the 2006 State Budget, and 145.1 million lei was transferred to the Social Fund. <\/p>\n
