Moldova hopes to strengthen the economic cooperation relations with Latvia after the Moldovan-Latvian Forum of Businesspeople that was held in Chisinau. <\/p>\n

Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin said at the forum he trusts that the trade between Moldova and Latvia in such areas as processing of raw material in the agrarian sector, telecommunications, assembling of cars and equipment for the food industry etc will increase. The chief of state said the trade between the two countries in 2005 rose by 38% on 2004 and totaled $14.4 million. <\/p>\n

Attending the forum, Latvian President Vaira Vike-Freiberga said that over 20 Moldovan companies are currently operating in Latvia and the wines and juices are the most known Moldovan products there. She said Latvia is disposed to help Moldova in promoting its products on the western market. <\/p>\n
