In the second quarter of the year, the Russian Gasprom Concern will be supplying natural gas to Moldova at a rate of $110 per a thousand cubic meters – like in 1Q2006, reads the Concern’s Press Release issued on Thursday following a meeting its president Alexei Miller had with Moldovan First Deputy Prime Minister Zinaida Grechanaya in Moscow. <\/p>\n

Gasprom also wrote Moldova has put forward new proposals on expanding the bilateral cooperation in the energy field, so it was decided that the second quarter of the year will be dedicated to realization of the joint action plan, and for that period the gas price for Moldova will remain as before. <\/p>\n

The Press Release did not contain details of Moldova’s proposals. Before, Gasprom was insisting on thickening its package in Moldovagas company up to 75% (currently the Russians hold 50% plus one share in this Moldo-Russian venture). <\/p>\n

Last year, Gasprom supplied 2.45 billion cubic meters of natural gas to this republic, which still owes nearly $780 million for the fuel, fines and penalties exclusive.
