Moldova should fully develop the economic relations with Estonia – a country’s which has made important progress in the European Union accession process, Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin said at a Moldovan-Estonian economic forum held today in Chisinau. <\/p>\n

The forum was conducted within the first official visit to Moldova by Estonian President Arnold Ruutel. <\/p>\n

Vladimir Voronin stressed that there is still a potential which has not been turned to account in the bilateral economic collaboration. In the context, he emphasized the opportunity to boost the Moldovan enterprises’ activity on the Estonian market, as well as on the markets of other European countries. <\/p>\n

President Arnold Ruutel said that his country supports the reformation processes in Moldova and its European integratioon aspirations. Ruutel said that the Estonian business people and investors, the delegation is composed of, are willing to cooperate with Moldovan partners. "I am sure that both the reports debated at the forum and the direct contacts between businessmen will contribute to extend the bilateral trade exchanges and to promote the investments in Your country," Ruutel said. <\/p>\n

The head of the Chamber of Trade and Industry (CCI), Gheorghhe Cucu, informed the participants in the forum that the economic relations between Moldova and Estonia were on the rise over the last years. In 2005, the interstate foreign trade exceeded 3.6 million dollars, increasing by about 19 per cent against 2004. <\/p>\n

The joint ventures have an important role in fostering the Moldovan-Estonian commercial relations. Only seven Moldovan-Estonian enterprises are registered in Moldova, the CCI head also said, voicing hope that their number will increase after this forum. <\/p>\n
