Economic operators from Moldova’s eastern raions may obtain new licenses upon expiry of previous ones quite easily and without particular formalities, as per the amendments to the Resolution on regulating commodity flows to\/from Transnistria approved by the Moldovan Government at its weekly working meeting Wednesday afternoon. <\/p>\n

As was already reported by Infotag, last December 30 the Moldovan and Ukrainian Prime Ministers signed a Joint Statement according to which Transnistrian enterprises shall be registered with the Moldova Registration Chamber by using a simplified procedure taking about half an hour. After that, they receive licenses valid for 6 months and Moldovan customs documents for running export and import operations. <\/p>\n

The Moldovan Government has also decided that Transnistrian companies will be provided with Certificates of Origin of the CT-1 type for exports to Ukraine in a preferential regime, as Moldova and Ukraine have signed an Agreement on Free Trade. The issue of such CT-1 certificates is only possible if plenipotentiary Moldovan officials are provided a free and unconditional access to documents, production process, storing places of the goods and to the goods proper intended for exports. Besides this, such goods must undergo customs procedures with corresponding Moldovan organs. <\/p>\n

"We have agreed upon all questions with the Ukrainian side that the new regime should not create extra problems to Transnistrian economic operators. We reckon there exist no impediments to implementation of the December 30 Agreement, and we hope it will begin working from March 1", said Minister Sova. <\/p>\n

Transnistria has perceived the new customs regime, which was to be launched yet this past January 25, as a new economic blockade of the region by Moldova.
