The Voxtel company, the first mobile telephony operator in Moldova, intends to invest 21 million dollars this year, manager Francis Gelibter has told a news conference. <\/p>\n

"In 2006, the priorities of the company will aim to improve the quality and coverage, so that to cover 95 percent of population at the end of this year," Gelibter noted. He said that the tariffs of the company will not grow, "but, on the contrary, they may decline." <\/p>\n

The manager stressed that 2005 was a prosperous year for the company, with Voxtel "fortifying its leadership on the mobile telephony market of Moldova." <\/p>\n

According to Gelibter, the company obtained "nice financial results" last year, materialised through a 51-percent growth of revenues and a 45-percent rise of the number of clients. In particular, the revenues of Voxtel rose last year up to 956.2 million lei, while the number of clients grew by 201,000 subscribers up to 659,000 clients in late 2005. <\/p>\n

The Voxtel manager underlined that Voxtel held 70 percent of the general revenues of the GSM market at the end of the third trimester of 2005, according to data of the National Regulatory Agency for Telecommunication and Informatics. <\/p>\n

Gelibter announced that the company invested 21.9 million dollars last year to develop services and infrastructure. Thus, the coverage level of population rose from 84.4 percent up to 89 percent last year.
