The 11th meeting of the Moldovan-Ukrainian joint intergovernmental commission for economic collaboration will be conducted in Chisinau on 9 February. <\/p>\n

The head of the Economics and Trade Ministry’s bilateral and regional cooperation agency, Eugen Bot, has told MOLDPRES that the meeting’s working agenda includes 13 issues, among which the Moldovan-Ukrainian economic cooperation relations, the implementation of the intergovernmental programme on long-lasting economic collaboration between the two states (1998-2007), and cooperation in agriculture, transport, communications and road management. The commission’s members will also focus on bilateral industrial cooperation, the thermal and energy sector, the Moldovan-Ukrainian border’s modernization, the construction of the Giurgiulesti terminal and port, the mutual recognition of the right to ownership on goods situated in the neighbouring state, as well as ecologic issues related to the Dniestre river. <\/p>\n

Moldova’s co-chairman in the joint intergovernmental commission for economic collaboration is Deputy Minister Valerian Cristea. <\/p>\n

Data provided by the National Statistics Bureau show that Ukraine ranks fourth among Moldova’s export partners, and is the top Moldovan partner in terms of imports.
