Pensions of citizens who pay social insurance taxes will be indexed by 18.75 percent starting April 1, 2006, according to the National Social Insurance House (CNAS) of Moldova, which cites the state social insurance budget law adopted on December 1, 2005. <\/p>\n

Raisa Jitari, deputy chairwoman of the department for pensions and indemnities of CNAS, told a news conference on Tuesday, January 17, that the indexation process was calculates on basis of forecast of rise of annual consumer price index, which was 12 percent in 2005, and the 25-percent growth of the monthly medium salary. <\/p>\n

Jitari noted that 398 million lei is stipulated in the state social insurance budget for indexation of pensions. She stressed that "last time the pensions were indexed in November 2004." <\/p>\n

The article on spending financed from the state budget stipulates the following additional measures for 2006: indexation of pensions for participants in cleanup of consequences of the Chernobil disaster; 25-percent rise of social allocations for childhood invalids and disabled children under 16; 150-leu allocation for people who take care of blind invalids; rise of single birth indemnity for uninsured women up to 800 lei; purchase of spa treatment tickets for military, and other special allocations. \/\/ BASA-Press<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
