Moldova will become a full right member of the International Convention on the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System, the main instrument for facilitating international trade, as from January 1, 2006. <\/p>\n

Convention’s commodity register is used by 180 states. About 98% of the international trade is performed on the basis of its provisions. <\/p>\n

According to sources in the Customs Service, this system will facilitate the external trade between the participating states and will contribute to the improvement of the economic-commercial relations with other countries of the world. <\/p>\n

It is not necessary to adopt new normative acts in order to be part of the Convention. If financial resources are needed to implement the provisions of the given document, the Customs Service will cover the expenses. <\/p>\n

Only five CIS states joined the Convention so far: Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan. The other countries apply the provisions of the Convention not forming part of it. <\/p>\n
