The Russian concern is willing to deliver gas at a price of 160 dollars per one thousand cubic meters and not to seek the reduction of the price for the transit of Russian gas through Moldova, which constitutes 2.5 dollars per one thousand cubic meters for one hundred kilometers. <\/p>\n<p>A Moldovan delegation headed by First Deputy Prime Minister Zinaida Greceanii is conducting negotiations with officials of the Russian concern Gazprom. Sources in the Government assert the delegation intends to negotiate for a 30-percent increase in the price of gas. The Moldovan side seeks a phased rise in gas price within four years. <\/p>\n<p>At present Moldova pays 80 dollars for the Russian gas supplied by Gazprom and 75 dollars for the gas delivered by Gazexport. <\/p>\n<p>Minister of Economy and Commerce Valeriu Lazar, member of the Moldovan delegation to Moscow, has previously stated there is a conflict of interests between MoldovaGaz and Gazprom that is why the state has the right to intervene in solving the price problem.
