\nWashington, DC, Dec. 2, 2005 (RFE\/RL) — Exporters of Moldovan farm products have lost between 40 and 80 percent of their income due to a Russian ban on fruit, vegetable, and meat imports from Moldova, ITAR-TASS reported on 1 December. Citing a survey by the Union of the Association of Farm Producers (Uniagroprotect), which was released in Chisinau on 1 December, ITAR-TASS reported that Moldova has failed to diversify its agricultural exports. Russia imposed the ban in May, claiming that Moldovan meat and produce did not meet Russian standards. Moldovan officials claim, however, that Chisinau has complied. "Moldova has complied with all of Russia’s requirements. But there has been no reply from Russia," Moldovan Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev said.
