“The launch of a new IMF program for Moldova will not happen very soon even if the negotiations turn successful,” Mathisen told. He said he wants to sign a new memorandum with Moldova in order to offer concessional funding within the Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility. In this case, the funding the value of which was not assessed yet, will be granted to the National Bank at an interest rate of 0.5 percent for a period of 10 years and a delay period of 5 years and a half. <\/p>\n

Though the discussions on the new program will be initiated during the visit of the current mission they will end in February when a new IMF mission is due to arrive in Chisinau. <\/p>\n

Johan Mathisen, who is expert in macroeconomic stability, said he will concentrate on general macroeconomic issues, poverty reduction and economic growth in Moldova. <\/p>\n
