Chisinau, November 28 (moldova.org) — Moldova recorded its first domestically-produced oil exports. The destination of 250 metric tons of the M-40 fuel oil and 70 tons of industrial oil is Bulgaria. <\/p>\n

According to Moldpres News Agency, the oil products were produced at the Az Petrol Moldova refinery that started its operations on June 15th this year in the city of Comrat in the Southern Moldova. <\/p>\n

Oil is pumped by the Redeco-Moldova company<\/font><\/a> from the Valeni filed that is in the vicinity of the refinery. Current refinery capacity is 30 thousand tons per year, but the expectations are that the Valeni field will be able to provide some 150 thousand tons annually. <\/p>\n

Redeco, an US entity, signed a concession agreement with the Moldovan government for development of oil deposits an oil production. The agreement was concluded in 1995 for a period of 20 years. <\/p>\n

Earlier this month, the President of the Moldovan Academy of Science, Gheorghe Duca, argued at a Parliament session that Redeco failed to fulfill its obligations under the concession agreement, therefore, the Moldovan Government should denounce the agreement and announce a new tender. <\/p>\n

Ghoerghe Duca considers that in order to discover gas and oil deposits in Moldova, Redeco needs to drill wells of one to three kilometers depth. So far, Redeco drilled eight wells to the depth of one kilometer and five of these wells operate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
