On November 28, the largest microfinance institution in Moldova – “Rural Finance Corporation” JSC- celebrates its 8 years of activity. The Rural Finance Corporation (RFC) is the first institution in the financial market of our country which received a rating grade of BBB + (investment grade) from Microfinanza Rating (Milan), recognized and certified by the international financial institutions. <\/p>\n

In the last year, over 50 thousands rural farmers and entrepreneurs have benefited from the services of the corporation. Today RFC assets exceed 250 million lei and are invested in loans and credit lines provided to 261 Savings and Loan Associations, the total amount of loans to which exceeded 150 million lei in 2005, provided for seasonal agricultural needs, small investments, trade and services. <\/p>\n

RFC serves over 1 000 direct clients from among small and medium enterprises, with a total amount of financing of over 106 million lei of investment loans. In 2005, RFC provided loans under the Youth Socio-Economic Empowerment Project in the total amount of 5.63 million lei, including investment subsidies of 3.15 million lei. About 90 young entrepreneurs, aged up to 30, from the Moldovan villages have received these subsidies. <\/p>\n

At present RFC has eight regional credit centers (Edinet, Balti, Soroca, Orhei, Calarasi, Stefan Voda, Hincesti and Cahul), which allow to improve the access of clients to RFC products. The management of RFC has a rich collaboration experience with both local and international financial institutions, as World Bank, International Fund for Agricultural Development, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, etc. <\/p>\n
