The customs broker system will be introduced in Moldova as part of the “Asycuda World” (Automated System for Customs Data) system that was recently launched. <\/p>\n

The Government approved the regulations concerning the activity of the customs broker and of the specialist in customs clearance at its Wednesday’s meeting. <\/p>\n

The customs broker is a legal person holding authorization for the respective activity that will declare the goods, will present them for clearance, will pay the corresponding export\/import duties and will perform other customs operations for third persons. <\/p>\n

The respective regulations establish the conditions of activity of the customs brokers and specialists, the method of issuing authorizations for this kind of activity, brokers’ rights and obligations, the mechanism for state control over their activity etc. <\/p>\n

The Council of Ministers considers that the implementation of the mechanism for state control will contribute to the improvement of the financial discipline of the customs specialists which will lead in turn to the rise in the collections to the state budget. <\/p>\n

The current version of the regulations is being coordinated with Latvia’s Logistics and Customs Brokers Association, in line with the European legislative standards. <\/p>\n
