The Moldovan Ministry of Economy and Trade has accomplished the inventory of state property in the country, Minister Valeriu Lazar told Infotag. <\/p>\n

Ministerial inspectors have analyzed economic and other indicators at all enterprises where the State holds any shares. Emphasis was placed on entities’ activities last 4-5 years, i.e. since when the state property management functions had been entrusted to profiled ministries. The results of the analysis have been presented in a report that drew comparison with the results achieved by private companies working in the sectors concerned. <\/p>\n

As it turned out, many of the State equities are inefficient, for they are managed poorly. That is exactly why the Ministry is drafting a Law on the management of public and privatized property. The document will apply to equities still held by the State, to privatization procedures and other instruments, such as private handling of state equities, passing them into concession, and other instruments used worldwide, said Minister Valeriu Lazar. <\/p>\n

According to him, a part of state equities, which have no chances to become efficient, will be liquidated or put up for sale. Enterprises to remain in state ownership will be run by using certain principles of corporate management. This should make the objects efficient, the Ministry believes. <\/p>\n

As was already reported by Infotag, some time ago the Government decided to sell out its thin parcels in various industrial and other enterprises. This month, for example, the State-held shares of 31 entities were put up for sale through the Moldova Stock Exchange.
