Officials of the National Agency in Energy Regulation (ANRE) assert no decision of raising the electricity tariffs was taken yet although the administration of the Cuciurgan power plan “Moldavskaia GRES” had announced it would increase the tariffs for the electric power delivered on the right bank of the Dniester as from 2006. <\/p>\n

Anatol Barbei, head of the ANRE press service, told REPORTER.MD on Wednesday that “Moldavsakia GRES” has sent a letter to the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure informing about the intention to increase the tariffs. “Yet, it is Union Fenosa Company that rises the delivery price for the power distribution networks Chisinau, Center, and South,” Barbei said. According to him, ANRE does not examine the possibility of a tariff increase because it received no request from Union Fenosa. <\/p>\n

Vasile Gribincea, spokesman for Union Fenosa, avoided commenting on the intention of the Cuciurgan power plant to raise the tariffs. <\/p>\n

The administration of “Moldavsakia GRES” announced it would raise the tariff for the electric power delivered to the districts from the right bank of the Dniester by 36 percent, the price of a kilowatt of electric power following to increase from 3.02 cents to 4.15 cents. <\/p>\n
