\"\"Chisinau, October 8, 2005 (Moldova.org) — According to data of the Agri-Industrial Agency MoldovaVin, Moldova exported wines worth about 220 million dollars in January-September 2005, by 15 percent more than in the similar period of 2004. Official forecasts say that wine exports will exceed 300 million dollars this year. <\/p>\n

Overall, Moldovan enterprises export wines to more than 35 states, while Russia is the key market and absorbs about 80 percent of Moldovan wines. Moldova exported wines worth 180 million dollars to Russia in January-September 2005, up by 13 percent. <\/p>\n

Also, large supplies go to Ukraine, Belarus, the Czech Republic, and Poland. Relatively smaller quantities go to the Baltics, the European Union, Canada, China, Israel, Australia, Japan, and the United States. <\/p>\n

According to MoldovaVin, 95 percent of wines made in Moldova are exported. Moldova is the seventh biggest wine exporter in the world. Earlier, President Vladimir Voronin had said that Moldova will reach an exportation figure of one billion bottles by 2010. <\/p>\n

The biggest wineries in Moldova are Cricova, Milestii Mici, Vismos, Aroma, Cricova-Acorex, Dionysos Mereni, Purcari, Nis-Struguras, and Vinuri Ialoveni. <\/p>\n

Moldova holds the largest collection of bottled wines in the world, it is kept in Milestii Mici and the enterprise has recently received the certificate of Guinness book for this collection. <\/p>\n
