Western NIS Enterprise Fund” (WNISEF), a leading private equity fund, marks Wednesday its tenth Anniversary of investment in Moldova and announces the creation of Horizon Capital, a new private equity fund manager. <\/p>\n

Alexandru Munteanu, WNISEF country director in Moldova, said that the new company will continue to manage investments for WNISEF and will seek to attract additional investments to the rapidly growing markets of Moldova and Ukraine. “We believe that today the growing economy of Moldova offers us excellent investment opportunities. With our successful track record, profitable exits, professional team of people we are ready to capitalize on the private equity market of Moldova,” Alexandru Munteanu stressed. <\/p>\n

Natalie Jaresko, President of Western NIS Enterprise Fund, said that the creation of Horizont Capital is a natural result of 10 years of WNISEF successful operation in the region that proved that profitable and transparent investments can be made in Moldova and Ukraine. It is a logical step that testifies to the maturity of the market, its preparedness to accept new capital inflows. <\/p>\n

A recent study of 10 WNISEF portfolio companies and their economic impact in Moldova and Ukraine shows that every dollar invested in the local economy creates additional economic value of almost 10 dollars. The total economic impact of selected WNISEF companies in 1998-2004 constituted 1,261 million dollars with 358 million dollars of impact on the Moldovan economy which is 3.7 percent of GDP. <\/p>\n
