A regional conference of the heads of agencies for combating economic frauds from the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organisation (BSEC) member states started today in Chisinau. <\/p>\n

Delegations from 12 Black Sea riparian countries will focus on effective cooperation to prevent and combat economic frauds. The participants are to sign a joint declaration to this effect. <\/p>\n

The meeting aims at strengthening efforts to support the Black Sea region’s governmental institutions, that are similar to the CCCEC anti-corruption centre. <\/p>\n

Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin said at the meeting’s opening that the durable economic development has no perspective without assuring a climate of security and stability. "Therefore, we cannot overlook the dangers represented by the unsolved security problems in the region. That is why, Moldova, as a BSEC founder state and in its capacity of BSEC chairman, ruled to consider the security issues in the Black Sea region, along with other issues, as top priorities", Voronin said. <\/p>\n

The president voiced hope that the current meeting will have positive results, for the good of the organisation and of all the states from the region. <\/p>\n

The executive manager of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat, Stefana Greavu, said in her welcome speech that the process of economic cooperation and durable development can successfully develop only in an environment of security and stability. "Therefore, the cooperation to combat all the illicit activities in the Black Sea region is the most significant one for the BSEC member countries," Greavu said. <\/p>\n

Moldova’s top leadership, diplomatic missions’ officials, members of 16 international organisations and 30 participants from the delegations of the BSEC member states participate in the meeting of the heads of agencies for combating economic frauds from the BSEC member countries. <\/p>\n
