MOLDPRES\/ – The sixth issue of the International Furniture Saloon brings together about 100 Moldovan and foreign specialised enterprises. The event is hosted by the International Exhibition Centre Moldexpo on 8-11 September.<\/p>\n

Moldexpo director-general Natalia Ciocan has said the exhibition displays samples of national and international qualitative modern furniture, and it is also an opportunity to exchange information and establish business contacts. <\/p>\n

The Moldovan enterprises Stejaur, Creator-Iu. Bors, Confort, Ergolemn, RaVIMob Grup and others are among the permanent participants in the exhibition. They stage new models of furniture for kitchen, offices, bathroom, sliding doors, upholstered furniture, etc. <\/p>\n

The visitors will also have the possibility to admire the newest articles of furniture industry from 15 countries, among which Belarus, Egypt, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, the Netherlands, Romania, and Ukraine, Ciocan said. <\/p>\n

Deputy Industry and Infrastructure Minister Vasile Mamaliga told the participants in the event that in January-July 2005, Moldova produced furniture worth about 98 million lei (6.2 million euros) – up by 17 per cent against the same period last year. Over 40 per cent of the Moldovan-made furniture is exported to Russia, he specified. <\/p>\n

Another two specialized exhibitions, Interior and Domotech, are conducted at the Moldexpo centre at the same time. Interior decorating and accessories, as well as a wide range of electronic devices and domestic appliances are displayed within the exhibitions. <\/p>\n
