According to Bodisteanu, “the rise in the price of gasoline and diesel oil is caused by the oil sale-purchase game played by the US and Russia, as a result of which there are gained millions of dollars. These two countries dictate the price of oil products because they share the oil market and the deficit results from this. We don’t know how much time this game will last, but this year the price will continue to rise,” forecasted Bodisteanu. <\/p>\n

“We suggested not once to the Moldovan Government to find an optimal solution to ameliorate the respective situation that affects especially the agricultural producers. But we have never been accepted. We are trying hard together with the large oil importing firms to find a solution for agriculture, especially given the fact that it is harvest time now,” said Bodisteanu. <\/p>\n

At the same time, he predicted that during the next 15 days oil prices could decrease by 5%. <\/p>\n

Expert of the Institute for Development and Social Initiatives “Viitorul”, Dan Lavric states in turn that oil prices will continue to increase so that by the end of the current year one liter of gasoline will cost 10-11 lei. <\/p>\n

In the opinion of Igor Vatamaniuc, expert at “UniAgroProtect”, the Government is obliged to find concrete solutions to solve this problem. The state must subsidize the agricultural producers with a part of fuel – 100 liters per hectare during an agricultural season – and to reimburse the excises on fuel – 500 lei per tonne. “Otherwise, we will be forced to resort to certain actions, including protests, so as to determine the state to take concrete actions to help the agrarian sector in this situation,” said Vatamaniuc. <\/p>\n
