\nThe most successful businesswomen from country’s villages have met today at the National Conference of Businesswomen from Moldovan Villages. The action aimed at creating an informal network of rural women entrepreneurs, experience exchange between participants and their familiarization with methods of business development. The action that is organized by the Public Association “ProRuralInvest” is part of the program of SOROS Foundation “Economic alternatives for rural women”, which is financed by Eurasia Foundation. <\/p>\n

According to the director of the program, Tatiana Ambroci, among the most frequent problems the businesswomen of the country confront is the lack of data about possibilities of development in the field, of trust in one’s own abilities, as well as of guarantees for bank credits. <\/p>\n

57 businesswomen from villages have benefited to date by grants to the total value of over 137 Th. USD as part of SOROS Foundation’s program. There were created more than 200 workplaces. Project’s aim is to support the economic growth in the country through small business development. <\/p>\n

Ambroci specified that 35% of the women that are project’s beneficiaries work in agriculture, 5% – in commerce, the other provide medical services, manufacture clothes etc. <\/p>\n

At the conference, the head of the Division of small and medium-sized business development within the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, Iulia Iabanji said that currently it is drafted the Strategy of supporting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises for 2006-2008, which until the end of the year will be subjected to debates with the social partners. <\/p>\n
