From 1 June currently, Moldova will allow the import in preferential regime of a range of goods originating from the countries of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe, in line with the quotas fixed by the Government.<\/p>\n

In this respect, the Government approved the Regulations governing the import of products deriving from the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe countries.<\/p>\n

Minister of Economy and Commerce, Valeriu Lazar, communicated at Wednesday’s meeting of the Council of Ministers that this document was worked out with the aim of implementing the free trade agreements signed by Moldova within the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe, as well as for regulating the import in preferential regime of certain products from the countries that are members of the Pact.<\/p>\n

The regulations establish the list of goods and the methods of administering the duties on goods imported under preferential regime.<\/p>\n

Thus, no customs duties will be applied when importing industrial products from Macedonia and Serbia and Montenegro, in the limits of the set quotas.<\/p>\n

Customs duties applied to the import of industrial products from Albania will be reduced gradually in such a way as by 1 January 2007 they to be null. Import customs duties on goods coming from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina are planned to be abolished by 1 January 2006.<\/p>\n
