\n\"\"Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) in common with responsible decision makers will elaborate a plan of actions in accordance with which all the economic units will have to settle the salary arrears in the next three months. The achievement of this objective will be entrusted to the leaders from each sector of economy, mentioned Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev at today’s meeting of the Government. <\/p>\n

It is also planned to work out a plan of measures regarding the legalization of the remuneration system in order to avoid cases of tax non-payment. Concomitantly, the Premier commissioned the responsible persons with the task to elaborate a normative act that would stipulate the size of the minimal salary which a company must pay to the employees. <\/p>\n

Tarlev also sought the drawing up of a concrete and efficient plan of actions for the accomplishment of Government’s activity program for 2005-2009, which envisages an average salary in economy of 300 USD and creation of at least 300 Th. workplaces by 2009. <\/p>\n

According to a report by MEC, the number of economic units that don’t meet fully their obligations towards the employees was reduced to half, salary arrears on 1 April currently making up about 150mln lei, or 22% of the monthly salary fund. <\/p>\n

According to statistical reports, the lowest monthly salary is received at the moment in agriculture – 616 lei, and in education – 848 lei.
