In January-March 2005, the enterprises of railway, auto, fluvial and air transportation conveyed about 1042.2mln tones\/km, by 5.3% more against the corresponding period of 2004. <\/p>\n

According to the National Statistics Bureau, the volume of transported goods in the mentioned period decreased by 16.3% due to the 19.3% reduction in railway transportation that was generated by suspension of goods load-reload operations at the railway stations from the left bank of the Dniester and Tighina municipality.<\/p>\n

As many as 298.1 Th. tones of goods, of which 13.4% represent the volume of goods loaded in trucks and sent from railway stations, were transported by train in the analyzed period. Daily average volume of goods loaded in trucks in March rose against February 2005 by 17%. <\/p>\n

In January-March currently, the number of passengers conveyed by train reduced by 13.2% compared with the corresponding period last year. Buses and microbuses transported over routes of general use over 25.1mln passengers, by 4.2% more than in January-March 2004. Private economic units account for 68% of these transportations. <\/p>\n

About 12.9 Th. passengers were transported by water, 2.2 times more than last year. Concomitantly, the number of passengers transported by air mounted by 9.4% and made up 58.3 Th. passengers. In the respective period trolleybuses conveyed the largest number of passengers – over 49mln, on the decrease by 0.9% against the same period of 2004<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
