In the first quarter of this year, industrial enterprises manufactured production valued at 4382mln lei or by 3.2% more compared with January-March last year. According to an analysis of the National Statistics Bureau (NSB), industrial production growth rate slowed down in the first three months of the current year. Thus, if in January currently industrial production rose by 7.7% against the corresponding month of 2004, then in March currently it rose by only 3.2% against March 2004. <\/p>\n

Noteworthy growths in the production volume were registered at the enterprises manufacturing tobacco products, milk, beer, lacquers and paints, cement, glass. <\/p>\n

Statisticians state that food and beverages industry accounts for about 43% of the industrial production volume, the enterprises of this kind obtaining in the mentioned period a production smaller by 2.3% than in January-March last year, determining thus the reduction of the total production volume by 1.1%. The decrease, especially of the wine production by 7% against the corresponding period of last year, led to the reduction of the volume of food and beverages industrial production by 1.5%. <\/p>\n
