Representatives of the Union of Transporters and Road Workers of Moldova seek from the Ministry of Transport and Communications to bring urgently the tariffs on passenger transportation over regular routes in agreement with the real fuel prices. <\/p>\n

According to the co-president of the International Association of Auto Transporters of Moldova Vladimir Florea, the transporters that convey passengers over regular routes on the basis of the tariffs approved by the Ministry of Transport and Communications register losses for several months after each rise in the price of fuel. “Taking into account the fact that fuel‘s quota in the prime cost of the auto passenger transportations is of 50-55%, the increase in the price of diesel oil by 18.2% will lead to the rise in the transportation’s prime cost by at least 10%,” specified Florea. <\/p>\n

“It is necessary to constitute a commission that would urgently analyze the reasoning of the rise in the price of fuel and would present the respective information at the tripartite commission’s meeting. Concomitantly, there must be worked out a mechanism of control by the state and society on the formation of fuel prices,” said Florea. <\/p>\n
