\"\"Representatives of the World Bank and Ministry of Finance signed Wednesday an agreement regarding the allocation of a new grant to Moldova by the Japanese Government. <\/p>\n

Minister of Finance, Zinaida Greceanii told the press that the grant’s objective is to offer assistance to Moldova’s Government in the elaboration of the second Rural Investment and Services Project (RISP-II). “This project represents the second stage of an adaptable program credit whose objective is to offer long term assistance with a view to accelerating the agricultural recovery and growth”. <\/p>\n

According to the source, both stages of the program will implement regulatory reforms and policies, will offer investment support and technical assistance for creating the institutional capacity. <\/p>\n

World Bank Director in Moldova, Edward Brown said that the grant will be offered for preparing the feasibility studies, the detailed plans, the environment, social, economic and other types of evaluations. <\/p>\n

RISP-I has created 3.300 workplaces in rural localities and over 800 businesses. There were offered credits to over 500 savings and loan associations valued at 200mln lei, of which 99% were reimbursed. <\/p>\n
