\"\"The Government has announced plans to create in 2005 the Market Institution with a view to ameliorating the situation in the field of commerce of Moldova through the elaboration of efficient cooperation mechanisms. <\/p>\n

This measure is part of the Plan of Actions for trade development that was approved at Wednesday’s meeting by the Government. <\/p>\n

According to the Plan, studies will be performed this year for evaluating export’s potential in compliance with the provisions of the World Trade Organization. The prices of exported goods and the similar prices from other countries, as well as the prices of the respective products that are imported into Moldova will be subjected to a comparative analysis for working out proposals with a view to increasing autochthonous goods’ competitiveness. <\/p>\n

The Plan of Actions envisages also the monitoring of the evolution of imported products’ volume, structure and prices for identifying the factors that determined their increase, especially in the sectors where a high level of imports is registered. <\/p>\n

It is also planned to create databases regarding the access and sale of production on the European and international market, as well as a database regarding the offers for export. <\/p>\n

The creation of the informational center and the launching of websites with free access to information about the sale markets, quality and security of the product, demands for import and legislation of the import countries, simplification and fixing some strict and transparent rules regarding the export procedures by minimizing the set of documents necessary for performing export procedures are other measures stipulated in the Plan of measures. <\/p>\n

According to statistical data, the total volume of retail sales doubled in 2004, if compared to 2001 and toted 17.4bn lei. Volume of sales per capita comprised 5.1 Th. lei, in 2004.
