The rate of inflation (consumer price index) marked 1.8 percent in November, after 2.2 percent in October. This means that the annual rate of inflation since the beginning of 2004 has already reached 10.7 percent – 0.7 percent more than has been projected by the Law on the 2004 State Budget. <\/p>\n

The Department of Statistics and Sociology says foodstuffs became 2.3 percent more expensive, on the average. However, on certain food products the growth of prices was by far more impressive, e.g. on fresh vegetables by 13 percent (including on fresh tomatoes by 35.2 percent and cucumbers 10.5 percent), eggs by 23.7 percent, dairy products by av. 6.4 percent, fresh fruit by 6.1 percent. <\/p>\n

Prices on non-food items went up 1.3 percent, on the average. In particular, oil products got 2.4 percent more expensive, clothes 1.4 percent, children’s footwear 2.2 percent, and so on. <\/p>\n

Like in October, services rendered to the populace became 1.1 percent more expensive last month. For instance, fares in long-distance buses went up 14.9 peRcent. <\/p>\n

Price lowering was marked with only very few products, e.g. potatoes by 4 percent, cereals 2.7 percent, bread 2.1 percent, wheat flour by 0.8 percent. <\/p>\n
