Moldovan diplomats will celebrate their professional day. The Cabinet of Ministers approved today, December 26th, the Decision on the establishing the professional holiday "Day of diplomacy".<\/p>\n

The initiative comes from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration that proposed declaring January 17th – Diplomat’s Day because on that date in 1992 Moldova’s application for membership to the United Nations was accepted, "which marked the beginning of consolidation process and Moldova’s affirmation as a subject of international law and which led to intensified diplomatic activity".<\/p>\n

" The establishment of this professional holiday is an appreciation of the efforts and significant contribution of the diplomatic service staff to promotion and achievement of the foreign policy, ensuring favorable external environment for economic reform and social policy in Moldova, reintegration of the country, strengthening the positive image on the international arena and protecting the rights of citizens living abroad", said the head of the Moldovan diplomacy, Natalia Gherman, at today’s meeting of the government.

Moldovan diplomats will celebrate their professional day. The Cabinet of Ministers approved today, December 26th, the Decision on the establishing the professional holiday "Day of diplomacy".<\/p>\n
