The Nordic country is followed by Norway and Switzerland.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Corruption level in the countries is low, the GDP is high, while people are free to live the way they want.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The United States ranks 17th, Germany &ndash; 26th and Russia &ndash; 68th. Moldova&rsquo;s neighbors, Ukraine and Romania are way behind: 87th and 90th, respectively.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The analysis was made based on Gallup surveys over the period 2010-2012 in 156 countries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&ldquo;Six key variables explain three-quarters of the variation in annual national average scores over time and among countries. These six factors include: real GDP per capita, healthy life expectancy, having someone to count on, perceived freedom to make life choices, freedom from corruption, and generosity,&rdquo; the UNSDSN said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The UNSDSN revealed that mental health is the top determinant of happiness for an individual.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&ldquo;Some studies show mental health to be the single most important determinant of whether a person is happy or not.
