Moldova has a low employment rate compared to countries like Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, United States, Canada, Israel and others where it is much higher. According to Gallup’s global employment data based on surveys conducted in 2012, Moldova has an employment rate of 27%.<\/p>\n

Underemployment in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), where Moldova is part of, scores 13%, which is the lowest rate of all measured by Gallup in 2012.<\/p>\n

“As many countries are still struggling to recover from the global recession, the decline in P2P in 2012 is an unfortunate reversal of the growth seen in 2010 and 2011,” Gallup informed in a press release.<\/p>\n

The research institution suggests that developing countries should generate new “job opportunities with desirable working conditions.”<\/p>\n

“Developed countries must maintain or grow P2P rates to guarantee residents decent work opportunities and continued economic prosperity and social programs,” Gallup reported.<\/p>\n
