The Republic of Moldova plans on editing a 30-second-long video that is designed to promote the country’s tourism in the world. The spot will be broadcast on CNN and Discovery Channel, said the head of the Tourism Agency of Moldova, Nicolae Platon in an interview<\/a> in Romanian with Moldova.ORG.<\/p>\n

According to him, Moldova will participate at minimum eight international touristic exhibitions this year. Therefore, the Tourism Agency will start working on a commercial spot of 5-7 minutes which will be featured during all exhibitions.<\/p>\n

“We currently have several clips of 20 minutes each, but they are not effective because nobody will stand and watch 20-30 minutes,” Nicolae Platon said.<\/p>\n

The Tourism Agency has registered the tourism trademark of Moldova and plans on drafting a law which will clearly state how to use the symbol.<\/p>\n

“We want the Republic of Moldova to be recognized based on a logo,” Mr. Platon said.<\/p>\n

The tourism sector of Moldova is not well developed. Nicolae Platon pointed out that especially the southern and eastern parts of Moldova are not getting the attention they need to gain, simply because no waybills have been developed.<\/p>\n

The Transnistrian region of Moldova does not receive the amount of tourists it deserves. According to Mr. Platon, Tighina Citadel and the Glass Museum should be included in the national touristic circle.
