It is either controlled by the separatist administration, or the media attempting to be independent is being put pressure upon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">It is also the case of <a href=\"http:\/\/dniester.ru\/\">http:\/\/dniester.ru\/<\/a>, a news website based in Transnistria which has faced a lot of trouble since it was opened in 2009. The secessionist authorities have tried to harass the editorial team by hacking their website and modifying the content on the website. Furthermore, fake articles with the name of the editor-in-chief, Roman Konoplev were published on the news portal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Mr. Konoplev said in an interview with Moldova.ORG (in <a href=\"http:\/\/social.moldova.org\/news\/transnistria-se-fierbine-n-sucul-propriu-interviu-236019-rom.html\">Romanian<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/social.moldova.org\/news\/pridnestrovie-varitsya-v-sobstvennom-soku-interviyu-236018-rus.html\">Russian<\/a>)&nbsp;that most of the attacks on his team and work emerged last spring and summer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&bdquo;We were forced to change the hosting provider because it suffered significant loss after our website was hacked,&rdquo; journalist Roman Konoplev said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">According to him, the Transnistrian leadership did not stop here. They have generated a website with similar content, whereas fake articles with his name were posted. His sources informed him that the attacks are originating from the local KGB.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In November 2012, the website experienced what Mr. Konoplev called &bdquo;action in North Korean style.&rdquo; The access on the dniester.ru was blocked for all Transnistria-based internet-users.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&bdquo;Such thing was possible due to the involvement of the Internet provider in the region which holds the monopole,&rdquo; Roman Konoplev explained. He added that this was made &bdquo;without any decision in court.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The illegal authorities in Transnistria pointed out that the access to their website of the users in the region was denied because it allegedly violates two articles of the so-called Penal Code of Transnistria regarding the slandering and phone-tapping.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The journalist explains that once Evgheny Shevchuk took power in 2012, his team changed their opinion about media in Transnistria. They see any uncontrolled news portals as a threat.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">&bdquo;They are ready to use any method against those who do not share the same opinion as they do. It does not matter whether you are the administrator of a website, a journalist, deputy or someone else,&rdquo; Roman Konoplev said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Population residing in Transnistria is fed with fake information, the journalist explains.
