A recent study showed that Moldova confronts with a demographic decline since 1990. The issue is explained by the incompatibility between employment and maternal role of women.<\/p>\n

One out of five young women in Moldova is economically active. That means that women with age varying between 15 and 24 are less likely to find work than those older than 35 and compared to men of the same age, a study of Chisinau-based IDIS “Viitorul” revealed.<\/p>\n

According to these findings, childbirth reduces the likelihood of women to work.<\/p>\n

“The greater the number of children in the family is, the smaller the share of women continuing their professional activity and the larger the share of housewives is,” the report proved.<\/p>\n

Such conditions determine some women to choose a part-time job.<\/p>\n

“Every fifth woman would not like to have a full-time job,” the study showed.<\/p>\n

Unlike men, women do not want to work overtime more than three hours a week, compared to five hours a week for men.<\/p>\n
