Moldova followed a decision of the European Commission to name 2013 the European Year of Citizens. Premier Vlad Filat approved a draft law in this regard that awaits legislative approval. According to him, an action plan will be developed. It will imply concrete tasks which are meant to mark the European Year of Citizens.<\/p>\n

“This action plan will focus on informative actions and will bolster the dialogue with teenagers, supporting those jobless and involving the teenagers in democratization and development processes of the country,” Vlad Filat said.<\/p>\n

The European Commission will spend 1 million Euro on this project in 2013. Their activities will be organized at the grass-roots level, by citizens and civil society organizations themselves.<\/p>\n
