Amid Jose Manuel Barroso’s speech in Moldova on Friday, a small group of people protested near the National Palace while the European official addressed the nation.<\/p>\n

The family was demonstrating peacefully and carried some banners claiming they have no home to live in.<\/p>\n

“We are left without home because of the corrupted justice system and we are left on the streets,” could be read on their banners.<\/p>\n

Another form of protest was expressed by the Communist Deputy Artur Resetnicov a day before Mr. Barroso delivered his speech. The Communist burned his official invitation to the public speech of the official saying that he does not want to join the European Union which “supports dictatorship, criminality and poverty.”<\/p>\n

Over 16% of Moldovan citizens said they definitely want to join the European Union, while more than half of them are still undecided, according to a survey carried out at the national level in November this year.<\/p>\n

However, some 75% of people see the European Union an important partner for Moldova. Most of the citizens believe that EU should have a greater influence in the economic development of Moldova (78%), democracy (70%), trade (65%), and migration (64%).  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
