Moldovan Diaspora from Italy is “very outraged” on a Parliament’s decision to charge big fees on holders of foreign-registered cars while entering Moldova. The people are disappointed by the bill approved by the Parliament in July 2012 and which is due to go into force from the 1st of January 2013.<\/p>\n

“We consider wrongful and abusive to pay the highest fees in Europe for the worst roads in Europe,” Moldovan Diaspora from Italy said in a press statement.<\/p>\n

The new law requires the people who have cars registered abroad to pay higher tax discs deepening on the period of stay. Therefore, for a three-day-long stay, one has to pay 7 Euro. A month of stay would cost 65 Euro, while a year raises to 380 Euro.<\/p>\n

Moldovan people working in Italy are angry that the Government does not work on projects which are meant to determine their citizens to return home. According to them, such a measure will only carry off the Moldovans who wanted to return to their home country.<\/p>\n

Moldovan Diaspora is a consistent and steady contributor to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Central Bank informs that in 2011, more than $1,4 billion were sent to the country in remittances. The amount embodies 30% of the country’s GDP.<\/p>\n

“If you pretend European costs to use the roads, you should first bring them in line with the European ones,” the same statement said in an address to the Parliament.<\/p>\n

Moldovan community from abroad is hard-set and they are determined to jointly “condemn the discriminatory decisions” taken against them.<\/p>\n
