Today, September 3rd<\/sup>, the communist deputy Sergiu Sirbu filed a complaint at the Constitutional Court regarding Moldovan Parliament’s decision of July 12th<\/sup>, which requires the condemnation of crimes of the totalitarian communist regime and its symbols.<\/p>\n

In this context, Sirbu disagreed with the way the law was published in the Monitorul Oficial. “This decision was falsified. New provisions were introduced from the time of approval until the time of publication”, explained Sirbu.<\/p>\n

The lawyer admits that the Party of Communists could lose this lawsuit if the Constitutional Court would follow its political interests. “If the Court is guided only by constitutional norms, then the decision will be declared unconstitutional. But is the Court is guided by political interests, then we are likely to lose this lawsuit”, added Sergiu Sirbu.<\/p>\n

The Communist has also stated for publika.md that the Party of Communists is restricted in its political activities and that this law is a flagrant violation of the Constitution. “The symbols of a registered political party have been forbidden. It is a flagrant violation of the Constitution. We are restricted in our political activity”, specified Sirbu.<\/p>\n

The Moldovan Parliament adopted on July 12th<\/sup> the law for the condemnation of the totalitarian communist regime, along with its symbols. Any totalitarian ideology is also forbidden by this law.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
