Refugee families from Armenia, Azerbaijan and Palestine residing in Moldova have received accommodation in four apartments in Razeni village, Ialoveni district. The project was funded by the European Union within the Local Integration Project and co-financed by the High Commissariat of the UN Refugee Agency (UNCHR).<\/p>\n

The beneficiary families will be subject to free rental for five years.
\n“Without the enthusiastic support of the town halls, advisers and inhabitants of Mereni and Razeni villages, which provided the ruined buildings to UNCHR to be rebuilt, this project could not have been accomplished,” Peter Kessler, UNHCR official said.<\/p>\n

Over 80% of the funding came from the European Union, while 20% from the UNHCR.<\/p>\n

UNHCR’s main goal is to safeguard the rights and well-being of refugees. It strives to make sure that everyone can exercise the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge in another country. It also has a mandate to help stateless people.
