More than 25 underage children were repatriated during 2011 as a result of abandonment. The information was provided during an overview session of the National Council for Children Protection. Their repatriation costs between 6,000 to 10,000 LEI, according to the data given by the Ministry of Labor of Moldova.<\/p>\n

Mihai Moldovanu, the Moldovan vice prime-minister warned the responsible authorities about the negative developments on juvenile hoodlumism and demanded for immediate prevention methods and more implication with the children left at home without parental supervision.<\/p>\n

UNICEF Moldova representative, Sandie Blanchet appreciated the Council’s activity for 2011 and expressed their willingness to continue the support offered by UNICEF in the field of children rights protection.<\/p>\n

Ludmila Malcoci, the head of Keyston Moldova talked about the Moldovan Government’s commitment and openness in solving the problems the Moldovan children deal with.<\/p>\n

“I positively appreciate the co-operation relations between our partners, the civil society and I want to thank them for their support.
